I started working at Watson Woodhouse Solicitors in July 2021, after completing the first year of my Law Degree at Northumbria University when I was able to transfer to the second year of the Solicitor Degree Apprenticeship.
Over the course of the apprenticeship so far, I have been able to work within the Housing team as a Housing Advisor. During my time in the Housing department, I was involved in working with clients on a national scale via the Civil Legal Advice service as well as those in the local area. I worked on a lot of possession cases, providing assistance to those facing eviction to remain in their home. I also provided advice and assistance to those facing homelessness, assisting them in making homeless applications and ensuring that they were provided with suitable accommodation.
I have also worked in the Personal Injury Department, conducting initial appointments, and working alongside some of our most experienced solicitors litigating files on many different matters varying from accidents at work to medical negligence claims.
I am currently working in the Crown Court Department gaining a wide range of experience in criminal defence work in a variety of different areas of criminal law.
I have also been given the opportunity to become an accredited police station representative.
My experience so far has taught me many valuable skills, which I always put into practice when dealing with clients to provide the best service possible.
