Emma Williams

Emma Williams Solicitor

Area of expertise: Criminal Defence.

I have worked within the profession since 2013 and qualified as a Solicitor and Higher Court Advocate in 2019, joining Watson Woodhouse in 2020. I am Accredited as a Duty Solicitor with specific expertise in representing clients in the Crown Courts.

Since working in the profession, I have gained experience in dealing with a wide range of Criminal Law matters, with all manner of cases and offences.

Client care is very important to me. My experience has taught me that clients often need a solicitor during the most difficult times of their lives. So, I strive to be approachable and make myself available to clients. I always aim to secure the best possible outcomes for my clients.

The basis of a good defence, I believe, is the importance of preparation. Following a case from the Police Station to the Crown Court allows thorough and complete knowledge of all aspects of the case. Early advice can lead to an earlier resolution.

Notable cases:
R v S (2022) – Secured a suspended sentence order for a client who admitted a serious assault
R v M (2022) – Secured a suspended sentence order in a firearms case in circumstances where the law usually imposes imprisonment
R v D (2022) – Advised a client accused of murder at the police station resulting in no further action being taken against him
R v R (2023) – Successfully defended a high-value benefit fraud matter
R v S (2023) – Secured a suspended sentence in a burglary case involving the use of a weapon
R v L (2023) – Successfully defended a client accused of sexual assault
