Alex Riordan
Head of Conveyancing department

I studied Law at The University of Leeds graduating in 2004 with a 2:1 degree.

Following University I completed the Legal Practice Course with a distinction at The College of Law in York in 2005.

I then started working in private legal practice and completed a training contract with a firm based in Gateshead, during which time I developed a particular interest in property law and Wills and Probate.

I was admitted to the roll on 5th September 2007 on which date I joined Watson Woodhouse.

During my time with the firm I have assisted in developing a busy private client practice specialising in residential and commercial property work and Wills and Probate, including advising in contested estate and general litigation matters.

My department is extremely client focused ensuring that we deliver a personal, committed and professional service which meets their particular needs and requirements.

Jessica Shildrick
Trainee Solicitor

I recently joined Watson Woodhouse Solicitors as a trainee solicitor.

Having grown up in Middlesbrough I studied my law degree at Teesside University before completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Leeds.

I chose to do my training contract at Watson Woodhouse as it is a large high street firm with a good reputation and wide ranging areas of practice. I am currently completing a 12 month placement within the Conveyancing and Mental Health Departments. My previous placement was in the Crime Department where I qualified as a police station representative and therefore I am able to assist clients in police stations around the area.
