I am the Financial Controller at Watson Woodhouse Group, where I oversee all aspects of group finance, including cash flow, overheads, and departmental billing and disbursements. I provide regular financial reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and the wider firm. I work closely with the Legal Aid Agency, as well as insurers, accountants, and other key external stakeholders, to ensure smooth and compliant financial operations.

I take pride in creating an open, friendly, and education‑focused environment within the finance function. Supporting the development of the team is incredibly important to me, and I work to ensure that both the finance department and the wider firm understand our financial goals and what’s needed to achieve them.

Beyond my day‑to‑day responsibilities, I contribute to a range of strategic and operational projects across the business. This includes analysing growth opportunities, reviewing profitability, refining departmental fee structures, and driving process improvements particularly around billing systems and financial workflows.

I started my career with Watson Woodhouse more than 20 years ago as an office junior, and over the years I’ve developed a deep understanding of both finance and the legal sector. For me, this role is about more than numbers; it’s about supporting the firm in delivering high‑quality services to the people who rely on us. That purpose continues to guide the work I do every day.
