Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), Member of Resolution, Board Member at Tees Valley Women’s Centre
I graduated from the University of Teesside with an LL.B. (Hons) (2:1) in 2007 and thereafter qualified as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). I regularly keep up to date with training and development and have specialised in Family Law since 2011. I joined Watson Woodhouse in 2015 as a specialist in domestic abuse, dealing with clients when they are at their most vulnerable. I have built a reputation with numerous local organisations, providing services to clients applying for emergency injunction orders and orders regulating the family home. I have also built an awareness and reputation in dealing with additional issues that arise from domestic abuse cases, including child arrangements.
I work closely with local support services in particular, My Sisters Place, Arch, IDAS and Tees Valley Women’s Centre where I am currently a board member. All services support victims of domestic and sexual abuse in the Teesside/North Yorkshire areas. I hold drop in legal surgeries and provide initial advice on a free of charge basis for those clients who do not qualify for legal aid. I have completed specialist training with Halo around Forced Marriage and Honour Based violence. I also have specialist training around supporting Eastern European Women living in the UK.
I have taken up the role of Head of Domestic Abuse supervising a specialist team of practitioners within the Family Department.
