I am a Trainee Solicitor, looking to Qualify in September 2019.
I qualified at Teesside University in 2015 and am currently completing my Legal Practice Course (part-time) at Northumbria University. I started my training contract with Watson Woodhouse in September 2017, after working with the firm as an out of hours police station representative.
I am now currently in my Criminal seat and am currently working in our case progression department. My role involves reviewing and progressing criminal cases to ensure that all disclosure requirements are met before the Trial. I am also police station accredited and work both during the day and evening to assist our clients who are facing a police station interview. As hard as it is to believe, I still very much enjoy the police station side of my role and have no problems getting out of bed at 3am to assist one of our clients.
I moved to Crime after recently completing my Housing seat, where I am now a Housing supervisor. I still play an active role in the Housing department, where I specialise in representing and defending tenants who are facing possession and eviction proceedings by their landlord.
I am also involved with most of our Law Clinics, which includes working closely with other organisations in order to reach our most vulnerable clients.
I am looking to complete my training and specialise in Crime. I am aiming to go on to complete my Duty Solicitor qualification and obtain my higher rights of audience.
