Olivia Dixon
I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Crown Court Department, where my role largely consists of the preparation and management of serious and complex criminal cases.
I am an Accredited Police Station Representative and defend clients who have been arrested and detained at the station. My role is to protect and advance our clients’ interests during interview and ensure they are treated fairly by the Police. I take this role very seriously, as the police station interview is arguably the most critical point of all cases that proceed to the Crown Court.
My day-to-day responsibilities include analysis of prosecution evidence, preparing defence strategies, liaising with Counsel and preparing cases for trial. My caseload spans a broad range of offences including violent crime, sexual offences and drug conspiracies.
I am committed to ensuring that all clients receive the robust representation they deserve, by providing clear and concise advice throughout their case.
I spent my first year as a Trainee within our family department. I represented clients in complex Child Protection matters and Public Law Outline (PLO) cases involving children and unborn babies. I secured many successful outcomes where the Local Authority had de-escalated or withdrawn their involvement after representations were made.
